CONCLUSION

To conclude it can be said that the true essence of Goa lies in its -pristine natural beauty, exquisite culture and rich history. As a result, the state is able to draw a large number of travellers from India and the outside. The northern part of Goa is mostly famous amongst travellers for its virgin beaches. As mentioned before, the state has already gained prominence owing to the presence of its rich cultural heritage and so Goa is recommended as a must-visit to the people who have not visited the place yet.

  SOILS OF GOA The soil in Goa is categorized into three broad types:1) Lateritic 2) Alluvial and 3) Sandy.The major soil type is lateritic (81%). This soil is rich in iron and aluminium oxides and is reddish in colour. It has sandy loamy to silt- loam texture, well drained and highly acidic (5.5 to 6.5 pH). This soil has moderate organie carbon and is poor in potash About 11% of the soils located along the seacoast and estuaries is sandy-to-sandy loam This includes the Ker lands and beach fronts.The remaining 8% of the soil is alluvial and loamy in nature. nature.It is found inland along the river banks.   MINERAL RESOURCES OF GOA  The state of Goa is richly endowed primarily with ferro-manganese mineral ores. Other than this Goa also has a deposit of Iron ore and Bauxite, though of relatively poor quality. The mining belt of Goa covers approximately 700 sq. km. and is divided into three regions based on the concentration of the iron ore: Northern, Central and Southern Zone. Usgao River is the dividing line for northern and central zone and Sanguem River between the central and southern zone. The maximum area under mining is in Sanguem Taluka followed by Bicholim, Sattari and Quepem. The iron ore deposits in northern parts are nch in quality and quantity as compared to the deposits in Central and Southern parts. The zon ore deposits in Goa are mainly hematite. The main iron ore bearing zone is divided into four separate areas by major faults. The areas are: Bicholim Pale area Sancordem area Shigao Kalay area Sanguem Quepem area.
