Hello everyone! It's me Shenoy Fernandes of FY BSc from Government College Of Arts, Science & Commerce. Quepem-Goa. I'm creating this blog beautiful and precious Goa inorder to give more importance on Goa because nowadays this cultures and traditions of Goa is not practiced in all places except in a few villages. 

In this blog you will get to know about different rivers, beaches of Goa, food, sweets, cultures, soils, agricultural methods, climate, natural vegetation etc. I'm excited to share my experiences and insights with you through this blog.   SOILS OF GOA The soil in Goa is categorized into three broad types:1) Lateritic 2) Alluvial and 3) Sandy.The major soil type is lateritic (81%).   MINERAL RESOURCES OF GOA  The state of Goa is richly endowed primarily with ferro-manganese mineral ores. Other than this Goa also has a deposit of Iron ore and Bauxite, though of relatively poor quality. The mining belt of Goa covers approximately 700 sq. km. and is divided into three regions based on the concentration of the iron ore: Northern, Central and Southern Zone. Usgao River is the dividing line for northern and central zone and Sanguem River between the central and southern zone. The maximum area under mining is in Sanguem Taluka followed by Bicholim, Sattari and Quepem. The iron ore deposits in northern parts are nch in quality and quantity as compared to the deposits in Central and Southern parts. The zon ore deposits in Goa are mainly hematite. The main iron ore bearing zone is divided into four separate areas by major faults. The areas are: Bicholim Pale area Sancordem area Shigao Kalay area Sanguem Quepem area.
